| It is our mission at the Northbridge Youth Softball Association
(NYSA) to provide a safe, enjoyable and rewarding opportunity for
girls ages 6 to 14 to participate in the great sport of softball.
All registered players will be placed on a team and no player will
be cut. Our purpose is in the development of fundamental
softball skills and the importance of good sportsmanship, but in so
doing we also look to achieve a greater objective: to assist
in shaping the overall progression of these girls into honorable and
contributing members of our community through the values of courage
and teamwork. The fulfillment of exceptional athletic skills
or the winning of ball games shall be secondary to our primary goal
of developing ethical citizens. This point should not be
overlooked. The softball skills that the girls learn and
master will inevitably earn some of them spots on our High School
team and may even lead a few to college scholarships. However,
the lessons learned regarding teamwork, good sportsmanship and
respect, both in victory and in defeat, are our primary concern
because these are the teachings all players will take with them
throughout their lives.
The NYSA is a not-for-profit organization operated and coached by
volunteers and financed by parents and sponsors. We are always
open and available to listen to your ideas about improving our
league so as to make the girls learning experience more gratifying.
In addition, we are always in need of your continued support.
Participation in the NYSA may be as involved as coaching or as
straightforward as assisting in field preparation. Involvement
in the NYSA will certainly reward you as much as it does our
players.
We thank you for your interest in our organization and welcome
both you and your family to our playing fields - where the dream
begins. |
